So what can you do but be bored...

GAH thats how i feel at the moment,
To more —>
Ok so here i am sitting in front of my computer with nothing to do because my lecturer for C programming doesnt send out the assignment questions until like 7 o clock darwin time, so i have another 2 hours of doing  nothing, and then when he sends out the assignments its like a flood of textbook questions, Gah god dam…so i stay up until around 12 to get it all done no matter what, because i dont want to be thinking about doing it again later in the week because i have other things i need to be doing.

AND while im trying to do a lot of nudding, my computer failing because it doesnt have a graphics card really fkn helps when im trying to run a cracked version of Blazblue CS, maybe ill go and download the OST,  And when i try run it on my sistser’s computer it fails even more with a runtime error…gawd dam…

Speaking of soundtracks, i’ve decided to leech a pinch of my universities internets to get the Bakemonogatari set,

Just finished the next Episode of Tsubasa Cat as well, it seems that Bakemonogatari is not finished yet, as there are going to be 15 episodes in total, as there are 3 dvd specials or whatever you would like to call em,
Although this set may not be finished off i suppose its quite a decent amount of music to entertain me, hopefully enough for 2 hours…gawd…

Hmm

KABOOM!!!!

…
…
…
need to find other sources of entertainment for a while…listening to

is not going to cut it lol, she has a nice voice though.
Wow although

Is quite good as well with the power of the song, if you are able to understand the meaning.

Ok ill think i run around the place on the interwebs and look up some magic decks for standard and see if any wonderful ideas of mine pop up and then ill make the new combo corner.
You remember these two?

Well whatever

Till next time,

Ookami Kakushi 10

Okay. Finally stopped procrastinating and am watching.

The background music playing after Sakaki’s revelation was wonderful. Oh, Kajiura Yuki, I worship your music. When’s the OST coming out?

Um, well, I watched the whole episode without really any strong comments or feelings except that it’s probably going to end in a few episodes, since the ending of this one was so strong.

And for some reason, the preview was cut short. Oh well.

I’m glad that the story’s moving on at last and stopped waffling along at a snail’s pace. Here’s hoping the next ep will be good.

Victory Gundam and the World Masterpiece Theater

Maybe I just wanted an excuse to post this picture.

When I was watching Victory Gundam, something clicked in my mind. Have I seen this stuff before? Not exactly, but it was a big deja vu feeling.

Thanks to an AWO review about the anime classic Nobody’s Boy: Remi (which ironically is not a representative of the World Masterpiece Theater itself), I remembered. Victory Gundam is essentially a WMT show, albeit with robots and war.

I started to connect the dots. Victory is set mostly in Europe, and has very few characters (if any) of Japanese ethnicity. The main character is a kid with a family-oriented goal in mind–to reunite with his missing parents. Cartoonish animation. A wistful, moving score with vaguely Western sensibilities. Kids who routinely manage to beat up adults twice their size. Dogs.

I thought I was stretching things for a bit, but then I watched the OP.

He wouldn't be jumping for joy if he knew what kind of show he was getting into.

The picker-upper song with its uplifting lyrics is totally unrepresentative of the show as a whole. There’s no mistaking it: Victory Gundam is the kind of show I watched as a kid!

I would like to think that the WMT shows that were an ubiquitous part of weekday Filipino TV programming ruled the roost for a reason: they delivered a compelling narrative by putting their child protagonists through hell, until they got better, or in more extreme cases, died. A Little Princess Sarah was a huge phenomenon here, and even my mom watched it faithfully and could remember key plot points in the series. And it works very well; we Filipinos are total suckers for this stuff. (I’ll try to expound on that in the next post.)

Victory Gundam works the same way. Every episode, I was engrossed with the prospect of seeing Usso wade through a quagmire of bad things, because I wanted to see how he’ll pull through. There are very few happy moments, but they are good enough for you to hope for more, and this approach is highly effective. I had been wired for this stuff way before I learned how to feed myself.

Which explains why I love it.

Yum.. new products taste great! Also, birthday blues.

I finally remembered to blog! Yay!

Lately I have been living the life of a hikikomori – refusing to leave my apartment and spending the day doing dorky things like watching marathons of tv series (Heroes, Sex and the City etc) and anime, and reading a ton of manga and fanfiction.

I’ve been experimenting with cooking too. I made Bread and Butter Pudding, without an oven and Marmite Shrimp Pilaf. And pancakes without milk..
I’ve just been shopping though to stock up on essentials, and found a load of the frozen stuff I avoided because it said it needs to be cooked in a microwave. So I though, “Screw that!” and bought them anyway. For 100yen each they are cheap enough for me to experiment with. I figure forzen pizza might cook well under the grill… and I can probably steam cook the gyoza and takoyaki. I will not let my lack of an oven or microwave mean I cannot have nice frozen meals! I got some cool recipies online for baking cakes without an oven. Going to give that a go

Having just been shopping, I came back with some stuff I maybe should not have bothered with, but because they are new products I bought them anyway.  First new thing I bought was a lovely juice drink – “Sakuranbo & Raichi” which in English is cherry and lychee. It is soo nice ~ I’d imagine it is healthier than drinking cola, but that said drinking pee is healthier than drinking cola (ewww!)

I also bought a KitKat bar (one that looks like a smaller, thinner KitKat Chunky but costs twice as much.) It is white chocolate covered and banana flavoured. I don’t even like the taste of banana much yet I still got it. Because it is new… it was nice. Not as good as the plain KitKat Chunkys from the UK, but it made me feel better.

Having been shopping I feel I have eaten so much in the past hour since returning, than I have all week. Due to dislike of cooking and washing up I have been avoiding meals – having 2 a day usually, occasionally 3 if I get up before midday, but none very big and no snacking between meals. So to get in and have a massive selection of food means my eyes were bigger than my belly. But I resisted and just made a meal out of a bit of pizza bread I bought from 7-11, along with a cheese bun, the aforementioned KitKat Banana Bar, and my lovely Cherry-Lychee drink. And I struggled to finish that for some reason. I guess my stomach has shrunk. So no more food for me til tomorrow.

Though I may have a nice mug of Horlicks tonight, since my grandparents kindly sent me a load along with my birthday present, Easter chocolate and birthday card.

Oh yes! It is my birthday at the end of the month. I have no plans though since most of my friends are busy/don’t really like me/ are on holiday. Also, I have no idea how to organise anything over here. I don’t know good restaurants for going out for a meal, I am not confident enough in Japanese to go book a table, and also I do very much doubt anyone would want to come along anyway. I’ve not exactly been Miss Popular since I got here and any friends I make I seem to alienate with my constant homesick whining.

So perhaps a normal day of watching anime/reading manga etc is on the cards.

Pretty sucky way to spend your 21st birthday though, right?

Gundam UC is #1

The first volume of Kazuhiro Furuhashi’s and Sunrise’s new OVA series Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn is now the #1 selling anime Blu-Ray release (by first week sales) and is topped only by, strangely enough, the Michael Jackson This Is It documentary. The previous top two first-week Blu-Ray releases for anime have been Mamoru Hosada’s film Summer Wars and Hideaki Anno’s Evangelion 1.11. Gundam Unicorn (or just UC if you don’t want people to know that you watch a show called Unicorn) is by far the best of all the recent Gundam incarnations that I’ve seen over the past decade or so since Yoshiyuki Tomino’s Turn A Gundam. This new OVA returns to the originial series’ Universal Century timeline for the first time since perhaps 08th MS Team.

Sora no Otashimono: Chapter 28

I haven’t reviewed a Sora no Otoshimono chapter in a long time(I haven’t even been reviewing manga)…So I guess I should do one before I forget what has happened thus far in the story. Along with this series, I also plan to follow Negima through most-almost every chapter, starting with the next one! And I’m slowly putting the new Baka-Test together, it’ll be done either LATE today, early tomorrow morning, oooor tomorrow afternoon 8D .

So…uuuh…continuing from the last chapter, sort of.

I was expecting a battle to break out in Tomoki’s dreamland after reading the first few pages when Ikaros was getting beaten up and Tomoki trying to protect her(and the previous chapter), but I was disappoint…. He just woke up afterwards from the nightmare, so nothing really happened. It was another fun Chapter, attack of the killer watermelons!! Nymph and Aestra are hungry, so they eat Ikaro’s watermelons, they eat all of them and grow more. But after trying to grow more watermelons they create a huge watermelon monster.

• Astraea is so stupid, but that’s why I love her XD
• Nymph was cute when she was having her little temper tantrum over the snacks. She goes to the fridge to find something to eat, only to find Astraea sitting in there…and they both have a little tantrum.
• Ikaros loves watermelons so much that she decided to make her own garden, guessing what Nymph and Astraea plan to eat 8D.
• Watermelons!! they got carried away, so the whole garden is gone now… I wonder what Ikaros will after seeing what she did to bunch of bugs who were sitting on the watermelons.
• They try to grow the watermelons back, but they end up creating one huge watermelon monster~!!! XDDD Tomoki got eaten and turned into a seed. The plant the Tomoki seed, which makes another watermelon monster(who is Tomoki) that “messes” with Astraea (:3
• Nymph saves the day this time!
• Awww poor Nympth, getting teased by Astaea about her wings D:< Astraea seems to still be pretty loyal to her master though.

And at the end of the chapter, more is revealed. We get to see the person who was attacking Tomoki and Ikaros in his dream. Which, I’ve seen her long before now(went ahead and peeked at some of the other chapters I haven’t really gotten to).I like her character design :3 and she’s probably another one of that guys pets since she’s got a chain attacked to her. I think the next chapter will go a bit more into the whole situation.

*On a random note, I’ve been taking peeks at the RAWS, and Tomoki has another girl added to his harem, she seems to actually love him 8D and volume 8 of the manga has been, I love the cover*

FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - Episode 48

Set me Free~

[Eclipse]:[Raw|T-Mkv|T-Avi|DL-Mkv|DL-Avi]

Okay, i first thought Gluttony was dead… from last episode; guess not, Ling and Lan Fan, tag teams and drops a bomb on him this time.
The old man with Lan Fan showed up where Ed was, dropping some info.
Mustang gets info shown to him by some old lady about the Bradley family, homunculus
Lion King continues to fight Selim[Pride] but a villager shows up with a lamp; Pride uses it as an advantage, and attacks Lion king and lighting the place up wit the lamp.
Ed shows up to defend the Lion king, Selim[Pride] and he keeps attacking him, however it seems he’s got Greed’s ultimate armor(?)
Pride quickly goes back to Al’s body; but Ed has something up his sleeve; a flashbang which he uses to blind Pride and retake Al’s body, which also lures Gluttony, Lan Fan and Ling towards them.
Pride sees them all and consumes Gluttony, calls out Hohen in the forest with Al’s body.
Olivia continues her meeting thingy with Father; Mustang and Hawkeye hijack a car with “X” female

Next Ep: Seems like Pride with the newly acquired power from consuming Gluttony has gotten the group on a run.

Anime Recommendations: Full Moon wo Sagashite

[img]http://www.electricsistahood.com/images/blog/fullmooncast.jpg[/img]

Just started watching this one. Unfortunately a comment on youtube spoiled something for me but it hasn’t put me off. It is a very fun and happy anime, apart from the main story being about a girl with throat cancer but WE CAN IGNORE THAT FOR NOW.

The first episode in itself is some weird twist. Basically the girl has a visit from her doctor, she wants to be a singer and she doesn’t want to have surgery on her throat in case she loses her voice. She then meets two Shinigami (Gods of death if you suck), who remind me a LOT of Wanda and Cosmo from Fairly Odd parents. In fact, lets just say they are those two for now, and the main girl is Nagisa. There we go.

So yeah, the anime is definitely funny. It is animated by Studio Deen, the ones behind
Rurouni Kenshin: Tsuiokuhen and Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni and various other less popular anime. Needless to say they are a very good studio.

I recommend if you’re ever after a good comedy drama. It is labelled as a romance but after 10 episodes I’m not really seeing it as a huge part. Maybe later on, maybe it’ll stay how it is. OH, another thing I like is that after 10 episodes each episode has been fresh without random filler episodes, every episode progresses the story well. No fan-service at all. Maybe one thing a dick would complain about is the fact the main girl, even though she’s 12, talks like a 20-30 year old. Well yeah they kinda needed to have a singer voice acting her.

To Aru Kagaku no Railgun – 23

The Poltergeist case is now closed, but Mikoto can’t stop being worried. While Kuroko assures her that her decision to hand the kids to Telestina is the right course of action, Saten gives Uiharu a push in the back to see how Haruue is doing. Recalling how much Kiyama cared for the kids, Uiharu encourages her to visit them together. However, to their horrendous surprise, Telestina informs them that the kids and Haruue would be transferred to a facility elsewhere, and reveals that she is related to Kihara after breaking the data that Kiyama has painstakingly gathered on the vaccine. This causes Uiharu to go crying to the other girls in the Judgment office, where a quick background check shows that Telestina is not only Kihara’s granddaughter, but also the first test subject of the Ability Body Crystal.

Unknown to the rest of the girls, Mikoto has left the room by herself to confront Telestina. Angry at everything that has happened, Mikoto attempts to use her ability on Telestina, but her attacks are rendered ineffective by the Capacity Down that the latter created. Luckily, Kongou appears at the scene to save Mikoto after she fell unconscious. Saten stops Mikoto in her tracks when she tries to leave the girls behind to confront Telestina by herself again in the hospital, causing Mikoto to realise that she is not alone. Now back as a team, Mikoto, Kuroko, Saten,  Uiharu and Konori sets off for the final battle.

OH FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFARK!!! I knew it!!! Telestina can’t be anyone good!!!! And Capacity Down is created by her! It’s all part of the Level Upper arc! Oh boy, I can go be a script writer except that I can’t come up with awsm battle scenes and kakkoii lines.

And ugh, shut up with the crying, Uiharu. That’s frigging annoying. Woohoo! Nice slap, Kuroko! Also, Minachan Kongou and Saten are sooooooooooo awsm in this episode. Saving Biribiri! Standing in Biribiri’s way and getting her to acknowledge what’s most important! And finally with that baseball bat at the end! Higurashi, anyone? ^_^

It’s amusing to see how evil Telestina looks after she has revealed her true colours. The way her face distorts when she spurts out all those frustrating lines. I hope Mikoto gets to fry and cook and vaporize her in the next episode, which is going to be the final episode as well. ;_;

PS: I can totally imagine a certain someone squeeeeeeeing when Mikoto pulls up her shorts and puts on her hairpin.
